Brotte La Fiole du Pape

Brotte La Fiole du Pape

AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape

France

Brotte La Fiole du Pape750 ml

This wine, at Maison Brotte, was created in 1952 by Charles Brotte with the co-operation of local provincial glass and ceramic craftsmen. The unique bottle shape represents the gnarled and twisted vines typical of the region due to their struggle of growing against the Mistral wind. The bottle is exclusive as it is the only winery permitted to use this shape. This wine is a masterful blend of multiple vintages of best cuvées, aged according to the traditions and know-how of Maison Brotte. The Fiole du Pape is the most sold bottle of Châteauneuf in the world today.
Grape varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault.
Tasting notes: Deep and bright ruby. Fruity and spiced. Reminiscent of ripe berries, Morello cherry, warm
spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg), truffles, game and cedar. Elegant and well balanced with mature flavours of leather, spiced forest fruits and roasted game. Powerful, persistent flavours ensure a wine of excellent length that is a pleasure to drink.
Serving: Serve at 17°C. Enjoy with beef tartare, wild boar, moussaka, wild mushroom risotto, blue cheese, or with a dessert of chocolate fondant in raspberry coulis or a spicy apple blackberry pie.
